change at the top of the AI Information Commission desired by the Presidency of the Council: Giuliano Amato leaves his post and, in a flash, his place is taken by Father Paolo Benanti , professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University, the only Italian member of the United Nations Committee on Artificial Intelligence.

“During these months of work, I was able to know his competence and his balance. That's why I'm honored that he accepted this position. Amato's resignation from the post of president

Why did Giuliano Amato decide to resign as president of the AI Commission for Information, also known as "algorithms", designed to study the risks and opportunities linked to artificial intelligence? “This is a committee of the Prime Minister's Office, and as my appointment does not appear to be an initiative of the Prime Minister, I will certainly leave this position.” The former President of the Constitutional Court thus explains his action.

Amato's appointment came in October, without receiving the favor of the Prime Minister; During the end-of-year press conference, Meloni exploited a question from a Libero journalist to attack the professor: “Regarding the Algorithms Commission, I think we know that it was not my initiative and I basically said what I thought, but beyond that, I have nothing in particular to say to Professor Amato… I was frankly stunned by his statements regarding the Constitutional Court. »
